Scoop Newsflash: A Green Surge
The Green Party has become the third most popular political force in the country according to the latest opinion poll.
The National Business Review-Compac Poll puts the Greens on 7.3 per cent with particularly strong support among the young.
Continuing its honeymoon with voters Labour tops the list with a rise to 48 per cent support.
Despite their recent activity both National and ACT are performing worse than previously, dropping to 27 per cent and 6 per cent.
Most gloomy however will be the Alliance who has failed to take credit for their work inside the popular government. Their popularity has slipped further to 5 per cent.
Still hibernating, or perhaps waiting to rise from the dead, New Zealand First remains lurking below the margin of error, at a murky 2.6 per cent.
The poll which surveyed 750 people
has a margin of error of 3.5 per
cent.
