Kiwi Dollar Falls 1.2c On Contraction And Danish
Referendum
- The New Zealand dollar fell 1.2 cents against the US dollar in morning trading buying 40.53 US cents at 11:15 this morning. This afternoon the dollar has recovered a little and at 2.30pm was buying 40.8 US Cents. New GDP figures, showing economic activity decreased in the June quarter by 0.7 per cent. The fall in the dollar began after Denmark voted against joining European Monetary Union - and has in fact recovered a little a bit since the GDP result was released.
