South Africa have won the one day series after securing an unbeatable 3-0 lead with their five wicket victory over New Zealand this morning.
Needing 288 for
victory the Boks secured victory via a 172 run second wicket
partnership by opener Gary Kirsten, 101, and first-drop
Jacques Kallis, 93.
New Zealand remained positive
after knocking off Kallis and then Kirsten in quick
succession but any dreams of an upset were shortlived as the
cool heads and cricket skills of Mark Boucher, 18, and the
in-form Nicky Boje, 21 saw the Boks through to a deserved
series
victory.
