Typhoon Pabuk as forecast on Friday looks to be headed for downtown Tokyo, possibly bringing wind and flooding damage (and their associated insurance claims) to one of the most densely populated and richest regions of the planet.

Though Pabuk, whose name comes from Laos, is weakening as it moves further north, the typhoon still carries considerable moisture with it and according to the forecast below could bring in excess of 200mm of rain to a widespread area over a two day period.
