Scoop Feedback: Rodney Hide Talks To Scoop
About Cuba
Scoop: What particularly did you find upsetting about Mr Robson's comments regarding the United States and Cuba?
Mr Hide: I don't think he [Mr Robson] should be going around and accusing Washington of terrorist acts against Cuba. I think the idea of equating, you know the 'war on terror' with America is really offensive. I said that in my press release.
Scoop: Does America spend money on trying to destabilise Cuba?
Mr Hide: What I'm saying is that saying these guys from Washington are the same as terrorists is a disgrace.
Scoop: Right, But do you know if they {The United States government] spends money trying to de-stabilise Cuba?
Mr Hide: That's not what my complaint is. My complaint is that Matt Robson is equating the United States with people who go around blowing up buses. I think Matt Robson has got that quite wrong.
Scoop: Do you think he was meaning the United States was operating economic terrorism?
Mr Hide: That's not what he said.
