Images: Sevens Parade Infiltrated By
Chopper Riding Satanists

The Wellington Sevens parade would have impeded those citizens indifferent to Darth Vader riding a chopper bicycle – fortunately industrial action had made catching a bus next to impossible anyway so the good people of New Zealand's capital city had little choice other than to kick back and enjoy.
It would have taken a heart of stone not to rush off to the enlistment office and patriotically volunteer to take back Gallipoli such was the nation building effect of hearing cover versions of Split Enz songs while avoiding being trampled to death by Samba dancers and Haka parties.
The Fijian team (picture immediately below) were noticably all smiles thus proving not having to vote for a few years (ever?) is no impediment to enjoying a good parade.
While the Sevens parade certainly brings colour to the capital it is not without it's social cost – all lower grade cricket has been shifted from Saturday to Sunday this weekend in order to allow the 'flanneled fools' to wear even silly costumes to Westpac Stadium. Scoop understands this decision may be taken up with Cricket Wellington's heirarchy.
