Audio: PM Answers Field and Whaling
Ship Questions

Today's regular post cabinet press conference given by the Prime Minister was a rather more good-natured affair than a slightly torrid dual press conference with Aussie PM John Howard that occurred last Friday. Interestingly questions thrown at the PM regarding newly independent MP Taito Philip Field seem to cause the NZ PM less angst than when questions are biffed willy-nilly at her Aussie counterpart while he is enjoying quality Wellington visiting time.
Other issues besides Mr Field to not overly trouble the Prime Minister today concerned:
- A recent political
poll showing support for Opposition leader John Key
- A
report by an 'eminent persons group' on how to resolve the
troubled situation in post coup Fiji
- And the plight of
stricken Japanese research ship/whale killing factory the
Nishin Maru

press conference
