India: Failure Of Another Effort To Spoil Harmony

India : Failure of another Effort To Spoil Communal Harmony

By Tanveer Jafri

India is the only country in the world known for- 'Unity in Diversity'. But some communal powers, enemy of the humanity are unable to tolerate this secular recognition of India. Previously, these communal powers with the help of terrorists, used to fulfill their objectives at the crowded places. Clearly their aim was to kill the people in large number. For that there were many bomb blasts in many parts of the country. But when in spite of that, the communal harmony couldn't be spoiled; these terrorists selected the main places of pilgrimage & the time of festivals for their nefarious objectives.

The attempts made at Raghunath Temple, Jammu & Akshardham Temple, Ahmedabad are the important parts of this chain. But when the peace loving citizens of India couldn't be provoked by the communal powers & terrorists, then these foes of humanity did serial blasts, just a day before the eve of the main festivals, Eid & Diwali. These blasts were done on October 28, 2005 in the crowded markets where the people of the both the communities, the Hindus & the Muslims were busy in making the purchases for the festivals. These bomb blasts done in many markets simultaneously killed more than 50 persons whereas more than 100 were seriously wounded. Although this gruesome event changed the atmosphere in the homes of the affected families, the joyous atmosphere in their homes changed into lamentation but the cordial atmosphere of communal harmony couldn't be spoiled.

The blast in the ancient & historic Sankatmochan Temple of Varanasi by the terrorists is also a nefarious act of theirs to spoil communal harmony. This incidence took a toll of more than 30 innocent persons. When these terrorists didn't achieve anything even by blasting in the ancient places of historical importance & making them unholy by shedding their blood, then they started to change their policy of terrorism. After seeing that their objective could not be achieved by hitting the holy places of the Hindus, then these irreligious terrorists extended their hit list & entered the holy places of the Muslims in it.

On April 14, 2006, there was a blast at the time of the Friday prayers in the famous Jama Masjid in Delhi in which about one dozen persons were badly injured. After that in a Lahore bound train from Delhi, its three compartments were burnt to ashes so that there is communal disharmony & the good relations between India & Pakistan are spoiled. But all the efforts of the terrorists failed & proved futile. After that a mosque & a graveyard in Nanded & Malegaon in Maharashtra were aimed at on a famous Muslim festival Shab-E-Baraat at the time when the common people were busy in prayers. In this incident, many persons lost their lives & many people were badly injured. In all these events, a wave of anger burst just as it was at the time & previous attacks of the terrorists. But in spite of all this, the common people didn't lose their self control & didn't' let the communal harmony go out of the required line.

Once again the terrorists have made such an attempt in India. The foes of humanity have aimed at the historical Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad on last May 18, Friday. The Mecca Masjid is known as one of the historical mosques of South India & feelings of the common man are attached to it. This mosque is situated near a worldwide famous place of tourism, Charminar. It is said that this mosque was built in 17 th century & the bricks used to build it were bought from Mecca (Saudi Arabia). That's why it is named as Mecca Masjid. When there was the blast at the time of Friday Prayers, thousands of the people had gathered to say prayers. According to YSR Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the Central Home Ministry & the intelligence agencies of the state have been sending information that the enemies of peace can try to disturb the peace in the historic city of Hyderabad. At last, on May 18, the terrorists were successful in their wicked aim & attacked the biggest mosque of South India. Here a bomb placed in a Tiffin box near VazuKhana (water storage to use water for purifying oneself for prayer) was exploded through remote control or mobile phone. As a result of it, 13 persons lost their lives & many dozens were wounded.

After this expression, the crowd was in rage. The Hyderabad Police fired at the unarmed people just to control the enraged public. Although it fueled the fire yet the atmosphere of communal harmony remained cordial. Some people are of the view that the nature of the Hyderabad explosion is alike the explosions of Nanded, Malegaon & Delhi, so all these explosions seem to have been done by one organization or terrorist of one thought.

Here too, the people of the country should keep in mind that the terrorist attacks made in the past or to be faced in the future shouldn't be linked as the actions of any community. Certainly the probing agencies would soon reach the conclusion that who are responsible for these bomb explosions. All the countrymen should agree that these terrorists have no religion, no community & no honesty. The mischievous elements may be from any community or any organization. Such ideas shouldn't shadow our mind that the person aiming at the Hindu religious place is a Muslim or he who aims at the Muslim religious place is a Hindu or Non-Muslim. The first religion of the terrorist is to spread terrorism. Their religion is to complete their mission, just like a remote, on the directions of their masters. So the peace loving people of Hyderabad deserve to be praised because they controlled their feelings during emergency. In this way they saved this city of historical importance from being burnt. Undoubtedly, the reply of the attacks of the terrorist by the tolerant people of India, in the same way, is the main reason of the defeat of the terrorists. It needs to understand all the tricks of the terrorists & a will to keep unity & communal harmony.
