Arjun Bishta: Democratic Intervention in Nepal
Democratic Intervention in Nepal
by Arjun Bishta
Envisioning of bizarre intrusion over a democratic Government in 21st Century may sense idiocy, but, Nepal instantly needs a real democratic intervention now. Otherwise, who is going to safeguard the survival of this realm, whose identity is endangered? Eight Party coalitions is at the verge of collapse, Maoists still pretense power and hoard proud of their arms caches. Intuition of revolt is congregating among CHURE BHABHARs' hilly people and Indigenous society, cricks of Young Communist league and other Maoists' sister organizations has reached to the apex. Social security situation is alarming and most of the instruments of national power have been crippled.
Are these the results of true democracy in Nepal? Who idiotic say that Nepal is a democratic Nation? If so, why is Nepal always facing political crisis? Where is the exit for existing turmoil? Who is going to fill the security vacuum across Nepal? Civil Society, Democratic institutions, Governmental administration and Media have adamantly been attacked and are habitually being targeted by Nepal's undemocratic elements especially the Maoists. What and where is the legitimacy of Political Parties, now? If radical Communists' hegemony not instantly intervened by true democrats, very soon, Nepalese people will receive irreparable setbacks. To avoid such environment, instant Democratic intervention is compulsory in Nepal, now.
It is high time that Nepalese people should find out the out lets of prevailing havoc. Only ultimate out let seems that now the Nepalese democrats, security forces and civil society must immediately unite with broad National reconciliation, harness the international support till Nepal gains real stability and sustainable peace. Nepalese must understand that, all the political parties especially out dated ,terminated and out witted Red flags sprawling in Nepal are to be blamed for extreme political instability, politicization of security forces, proliferation of indigenous arms and explosives, ethnic and class differences, religious extremism and domestic terrorism. Please explain!! What is the status of the nation which has internally displaced citizens, alarming poverty, socio-economic disparity, culture of violence/crime and disregard for law?
Any solution! Who is going to rein over the abuse of authority (White collar crimes) and youth bulge due to which the government is facing sudden increased demands on economy? So, to shatter these clouds, Nepal urgently needs democratic intervention.
What more justifications one would require for proclaiming that Nepal in a flash may be declared as a failed state of this modern era. Why, Nepalese democrats are not concerned about their Nation? Where is the vision of their political leaders?" What is Nepalese leaders' NIRVANA? What kind of Nepal they wish?
Maoists along with Nepalese so called hard core (KHANTI) Communists, CONGRESI and other 8 party leaders have also absolutely ruled this country for nearly 15 months now. But! What did Nepal achieve? Results are crystal clear. Each and every sector and all the instruments of national power of the nation have been crippled under this so called elite 8 Party government. Do these so called bright Politicians have any says?
By now, all the Nepalese must have explored the reasons behind the prevailing alarming situation in their country. Perhaps they know very well. Nepalese people must keep it on their minds and be alert now.
I preach that instantaneous democratic intervention over Nepalese ill-governance and corrupt bureaucracy is the only option remained with the Nepalese people that can rescue the Nepalese boat sailing under horrendous typhoons. With the lessons learned hereto, it looks that with the coexistence of patriots, democratic institutions and support of experienced, dedicated and loyal Security forces, an instant but internationally recognized democratic intervention in Nepal is necessary for the rights of the people, democratic system, democratic rights, values and human rights, equality and freedom.
Nepalese democrats must exercise this courageous game, now. Nepalese people by now should know that democratic intervention is indispensable for the preservation, exploitation and development of economic-potential and for the well being and prosperity of the Nepali people. To enhance prosperity and equitable development, to create conducive environment for entrepreneurship and to secure the interests of the overseas employees, instant democratic intervention is obligatory in Nepal.
Desire of modern Nepal is to maintain professional security forces with high morale and promote political awareness on national security perspective, strengthen civil and criminal justice administration to enhance rule of law with an independent judicial system. Like wise the country also has to strengthen the cultural, traditional, and social harmony /fraternity.
Like wise, democratic intervention should also contribute to international peace and global harmony by enhancing diplomatic negotiation capabilities, cooperating with the international communities, participating in intergovernmental organizations and eradication of transnational threats. Nepalese and democratic forces should open their eyes now, and explore how much power potential and resources Nepal harnesses. Democratic intervenes with good relation with international communities must utilize their Himalayan water, forests and diasporas.
Nepalese democrats should foster tourism, engage youth bulge in to constructive endeavors and enjoy biodiversity and intellectual property rights. With the immense potential in natural resources and intellectual properties, Nepal will prosper by vibrant economies in India and China also.
This is the only remedy for ailing Nepal.
