Fake motorcade at APEC not funny: NSW Police
By Jackson Payne
The two stars of the popular Aussie program The Chasers War have been detained by police after conducting a fake motorcade through central Sydney today.
ABC's Chasers co-star Chris Taylor told ABC News that police have detained Chas Licciardello and the show's executive producer Julian Morrow after the stunt was halted by police earlier today.
Those involved in the motorcade are still being held, while police wait for ‘special units' to arrive.
The motorcade consisted of three cars, and it is believed that not all involved have been detained. ABC lawyers are on there way.
Sydney is under security lockdown this week with the 2007 APEC meetings underway. Police are taking their role very seriously, with tourists even being requested to deleted photos on cameras and phones of the barrier that surrounds the central business district. The charges faced by those involved are not yet known, but in context of the week they are believed to be serious.
The duo previously satirised the heightened APEC security in Sydney this week.
