According to the Prime Minuister everyone was a winner in the cabinet re-shuffle. Newly ex-minister's such as Mark Burton were evidently simply leaving - entirely of their own free will - so they could devote themselves to salvaging their seat following recent electoral boundary's being redrawn.
The face of youth in the Labour Party and indeed Parliament Darren Hughes looked particularly chuffed at becoming a Minister (albeit outside cabinet) while Shane Jones a man with an extensive business career outside Parliament was more sanguine in his expressions. Steve Chadwick was a big winner bagging the Conservation portfolio while former Labour Party president Maryan Street makes it to the cabinet table after just over two years as an MP.
