Ancestral Wu Awaits Global Taoist Transformation

Ancestral Wu Awaits World-Wide Taoist Transformation

By Genevieve Cora Fraser

The ancient Wu
Mediated on high
Under starry skies
Balanced the turning
Cosmos in primal voice
Spun round in rhythmic
Stomped earth
Danced entranced
Called forth cleansing rain
Healing rituals birth passed
Into pained
Longing before death
Lingered the Wu’s mysterious
Intercessions perplexed
The uninitiated
He knew
The realm of energy
Within bodies
Shapes and inner functions
Fecund growth
Transformed spring
Into harvest
Clouds brushed
Forested mountains
Floated and spread
Into ocean pulsations
As impulses heightened
Rhythms called
Shen heart-mind
In balance until silent
The moon
Grew golden
Above the water
As the Wu watched
In wonder life evolved
Yet remained constant
Beneath the ancient sky
