Part of Wellington’s central business district was roped off this afternoon in response to an alleged bomb threat.
Police and firefighters surrounded Willeston House after a threatening email and note were reported around 3:30pm.
Stuff.co.nz reports the building was evacuated and bomb squad deployed but no explosives were found.
The cordons around Lambton Quay, Willis St, Jervois Quay and Hunter St were removed just after 5:30pm.
Police on the scene declined to comment.
