1210 Haami Piripi, Te Runanga o Te Rarawa

This week the Government tabled their Marine and Coastal Area Bill, the piece of legislation hoped to replace the contentious Foreshore and Seabed Act passed in 2004 This new piece of legislation, as well as extinguishing the old Act, allows for iwi to claim customary title on coastal areas if it can be proven a tribe has "exclusive use and occupation" of the land and has done since 1840. While the Maori Party will back the bill, some iwi are not happy with it and a spokesperon from Northland's Te Runanga o Te Rarawa joins me on the show to discuss his criticism of the legislation.

You may have heard of a bizarre Qur'an burning event that was planned by a Florida church pastor for the 9th anniversary of the September 11 Trade Centre attacks. Following international outrage, apparently the book burn has been called off, but Gordon Campbell joins me on the show to give us a bit more background on this twisted turn of events.

1240 bFM Field Report

Mikela Dennison looks at the public perception of PR in New Zealand.

1245 Anna Pickering, New Zealand Prostitutes Collective's Auckland spokesperson

The Regulation of Prostitution in Specified Places Bill passed its first reading on Wednesday. If it becomes law it could allow Manukau City the power to ban street prostitution in certain areas. This is something lobby groups have wanted for a while and some of you may remember the interview I did sometime last year with the Papatoetoe Community Patrol, who attempted to put an end to street prostitution on Hunters Corner. However, the New Zealand Prostitutes Collective says that if prostitution was banned it would place sex workers in Manuaku at risk and the collective's Auckland spokesperson Annah Pickering is joining me on the show to discuss this.

All interviews and reports will be podcasted on the 95bFM website following the show.

Aucklanders can tune in at 95 on the FM dial.
