NZ's Emissions Trading Scheme Explained Through Animation
NZ's Emissions Trading Scheme Explained Through Animation
Animation - By Lindsay Horner.
New Zealand’s
Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) is an important piece of
policy which has failed to receive it’s fair share of
discussion and analysis in the country’s media. Coming
Clean attempts to unravel the ETS and explain it’s
history, inner-workings, effects on industry and
agriculture, as well overall environmental efficacy. It does
this by using a unique blend of stop-motion animation and
traditional documentary techniques.
Coming Clean - New Zealand's Emissions Trading Scheme Explained from Lindsay Horner on Vimeo.
Animation is used to explain the details of the scheme, while interviews provide comment and opinion. Featured in the documentary are Jeanette Fitzsimons (former Green party co-leader), Don Nicolson (President of Federated Farmers NZ) and Jason Franklin from New Zealand Aluminium Smelters. Coming Clean looks specifically at how industry and agriculture are accommodated in the ETS. Agriculture is especially important to New Zealand as the sector contributes half of the country's total greenhouse gas emissions.
