At today's press conference Labour leader Phil Goff decried today's annual inflation figure, and faced questioning on what National or Labour might do about the cost of living.
He also responded to Labour's 27% rating in a recent poll, saying he expected National's economic performance and campaign on state owned asset sales to improve Labour's standing.
Goff will speak in Christchurch later today on a looming skills shortage in the face of Canterbury earthquake reconstruction.
