Scoop's Selwyn Manning and 5AA Adelaide's Peter Godfrey discuss 'The Big Freezer': New Zealand has had a week of record breaking winter temperatures, including light snow in Auckland's Waitakere Ranges, the first in decades... The South Island and lower and central North Island have have a huge dumping of snow, closing roads, stranding skiers, and causing the temporary closure of schools and civil facilities.
Also, the popularity of our slurring Prime Minister John Key continues to rise with the latest poll showing around 60 percent of those polled preferring him as their prime minister... Meanwhile, Labour leader Phil Goff continues to poll like a second-rate distant contender. At this stage it looks like a massive win for the Nationals when the General Election is held in November this year.
