Rubgy Ball Lodged On Civic Square Fern Ball

Scoop hopes it's still there, but this photo was taken on Tuesday night.
Scoop doesn't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the 'fern ball' sculpture in Wellington's Civic Square has received a Rugby World Cup makeover.
Scoop happened to be walking through the square early last evening when two gentlemen – who had possibly hoped to play in the artificial turf which was actually removed on Friday – were throwing around a rugby ball.
The next thing Scoop noticed was the clanging noise as a high kick lodged the ball between a guy wire and the sculpture.
Neil Dawson's Fern was taken down prior to the Rugby World Cup for maintenance of the sculpture and its fittings. Scoop suggests this may have been for the best.
