Dear Editor
I have been awarded the Queen Service Medal on the New Years Day Honours for services to the Tamil community. I feel that it is an honour for not only me, but also for my community, where many volunteers worked with me to help the community.
At this occasion, I would like to thank you and your team for the support you gave to my community work by publishing our media releases, news, event notices, etc.
It is a great occasion for me as my wife, Anne Uma Devi George, was also awarded the Queen Service Medal for the services to the community - possibly the first time a husband and wife have received the award at the same time.
Once again thank you for your support with our volunteer work.
