Winston Peters' suggestion that the National party have somehow 'used' the public revelation of a 1080 poison threat as a means to derail his lead in the polls is, in itself, a toxic bombshell. If he's right, then one would imagine the fur is really going to fly in the week ahead of of the by-election.
