Post-Cabinet Press Conference on Pre-Budget Address
Post-Cabinet Press Conference on Pre-Budget Address
In a press conference held today in Wellington, Prime Minister John Key spoke on upcoming ANZAC commemorations, the pre-budget address and Tony Abbott’s visit next Monday.
Update: Transcript: PM's Post-Cabinet Press Conference 13/4/15
Key said he would be in Wellington for the opening of the Pukeahu Memorial Park which lies opposite the tomb of the unknown soldier in Mt. Cook.
Prior to tomorrows pre-budget address Key acknowledged that the National-led government would not be making surplus.
Key compared making surplus to “landing a 747 on a pinhead” and attributed the failure to low rates of inflation and the Christchurch earthquake.
He was confident that wages were increasing faster than the cost of living.
Tony Abbott will be in Wellington on Monday for the Dedication of Australian Memorial at Pukeahu Memorial Park.
Key does not think a bill similar to Australia’s vaccination law would be effective in New Zealand as 94% of parents already vaccinate their children.
