New Zealand is capable of accepting a left-of-centre coalition government, but on only one condition: the parties clearly must be able to work together. 

Metiria Turei's attack on Winston Peters shows that's not possible. Andrew Little showed good helmsmanship in trying to settle the prima donnas.
