WINZ BLUNDER: A WINZ Manager has been suspended after chartering an aircraft to take staff to a training conference at the cost of $165,000. WINZ CEO said it was unacceptable. Normal economy flights for the staff would have cost $67,000.

NZ RICH LIST: The richest people in New Zealand are worth nearly $10 billion.

CHRISTCHURCH SCARE: The first blood results are back from the Christchurch endoscope scare. They are all negative so far.

OSH CHARGE: Occupational Safety And Health have laid seven charges on three companies after three workers died from toxic fumes in a sewer drain in February. Two companies have confirmed they will defend the charges. It was the worst industrial accident in 20 years.

IRISH PEACE: Ulster Unionists boycotted a meeting today set to form a power sharing executive. Leader David Trimball said there was simply no point in him attending.

PERU: Peruvians are celebrating the capture of the Shining path rebel Oscar Jurand. The left-wing Shining Path have raged a 20 year war against Peruvian authorities which has cost 20,000 lives.

NZ ARMY: The New Zealand Army is preparing to send a batallion of 400 troops to East Timor. East Timor is preparing for independence elections next month and if independence is declared troops from New Zealand and Australia may be required to prevent the outbreak of a civil war.

COWS: Cows in Ballarat, Australia are being fed confectionary to enhance energy levels and milk yielda.
