Press Release: New Zealand National Party
Murray McCully
MP for Albany
28 July 2000
Don't buy a Lotto ticket Judith
"Don't rush out and buy a
Lotto ticket Judith," is the advice of Albany MP Murray
McCully to Associate Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister
Judith Tizard, at the end of a difficult week.
"On Tuesday
she lost the America's Cup responsibility, to Wellington
based Trevor Mallard"
"On Thursday, the Prime Minister let
slip that she had given the troubled Heart of the Nation
Project to Jim Anderton and Industry New Zealand."
"It
now emerges that the Government is ignoring Auckland Mayoral
Forum's request for $35 million to assist in buying the rail
corridor - a move which cost Tizard her remaining
credibility as Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on
Auckland Issues"
With a week like that behind her, my
message is "Don't rush out and buy a Lotto ticket, Judith"

He needs more time to figure out a response? OK, but the clock is ticking.
The Julian Assange situation is a lot more urgent. Assange’s deportation to the United States has now been okayed by the British courts and also - crucially – by its government. At any moment, Assange could be on a plane and headed for a US prison. He is facing the prospect of 175 years in jail...
