Support from NZ First for four weeks welcomed
Hon Matt Robson MP, Progressive deputy leader, welcomed the news that the NZ First party supports four weeks leave for all employees.
“I was pleased to see Peter Brown’s statement that they would conditionally support it being introduced earlier than 1 April 2007.
“I am introducing an SOP to the Holidays Bill to introduce four weeks leave from 1 April 2005. So NZ First will be able to vote for four weeks coming in two years earlier even though they have concerns about the rest of the Holidays Bill.
“That will be three parties supporting four weeks for families.
“Parents will be disappointed for their children’s sake if NZ First chose not to cast their votes in line with their words.
“Four weeks leave in law will be good for businesses because it reduces stress. Restred workers will boost productivity. Further, it will put all businesses on the same level playing field,” said Matt Robson.
