Dunne corrects news report
United Future leader Peter Dunne today cleared up confusion caused by an incorrect news report about preconditions for a possible meeting with Labour leader Helen Clark.
"Contrary to what has been reported, I am not seeking assurances about United Future's coalition bottomline issues from the Prime Minister before any such meeting.
"Earlier this week, I met National leader Dr Don Brash to clarify his party's views on the Families Commission, the continued existence of which is one of United Future's bottomline policies.
"Should Miss Clark and I hold a similar meeting, I will be seeking Labour's views on our two other bottomline issues - no change to the legal status of cannabis and no attack on freedom of speech through the introduction of hate speech laws.
"I repeat - the purpose of the meeting would be to seek that clarification, not to seek the clarification before the meeting," said Mr Dunne.
