Ellerslie Flower Show gets down to Grassroots!
This year's Ellerslie Flower Show will celebrate the nurturing of more than just plants, with the launch of the 2008 Grassroots Calendar.
The Child Poverty Action Group's 2008 Grassroots Calendar includes a stunning range of artworks by past and present students from Wesley College in South Auckland, (including a winner in the 2006 Mazda Art Awards).
Blair Strang, (the hearthrob ambulance driver ex Shortland St) will officially launch the Grassroots calendar at the Ellerslie Flower Show on Tuesday November 13th at 1pm in the Grove Cafe.
"We wanted the launch of 'Grassroots' to be associated with a positive event celebrating what can be done to help our young people. Much like plants they need nurturing as well as basic nutrition to reach their full potential." says a passionate Janfrie Wakim from CPAG.
Proceeds from the sale of the $26.95 calendar will provide scholarships for Wesley College and support the continuing work of the Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG).
