Government must walk the walk
Government must walk the walk
The Alliance Party of New Zealand supports the New Zealand Union of Students’ Association’s in their actions against the current student loan system and the lack of support available to students.
Student debt is currently $10 billion dollars and increasing by $1 billion dollars every year. The Alliance says this is totally unacceptable.
“It is time the government started investing in students and investing in the future of New Zealand. The government is happy to talk the talk but it is time they started to walk the walk and put in place steps to reduce student debt and implement a fully funded public tertiary education”, says Alliance Party Tertiary Education Spokesperson Richard Mitchell,
“Education is the right of all New Zealanders, not just those who can afford it. A fully funded public tertiary education system will ensure that all New Zealanders get the education they rightfully deserve”
If elected the Alliance would introduce a fully funded public tertiary education system and a universal allowance for all students.
