Water Safety NZ Endorses Lifejacket Bill
Water Safety
New Zealand wholeheartedly supports National MP Peseta Sam
Lotu-Iiga’s private member’s bill announced today that
would see the wearing of lifejackets compulsory for children
aged under 15.
WSNZ CEO Matt Claridge says anything
that can be done to help stop New Zealanders – especially
children – drowning, is a positive move.
“New
Zealand’s high drowning toll is a huge issue. We applaud
Mr Lotu-Iiga for introducing this bill and will be
supporting its progress into law.”
