Botany Labour Party offers vote of Sympathy to local MP.
The Botany Labour Party is pleased to see that the National Party has acknowledged that the Capital Gains Tax that the Labour Party campaigned on during the 2014 General Election was and is a totally sensible and practical tax especially in an economy battling with a housing bubble fuelled by property speculation.
We are amused to see that Mr Key has somersaulted and U turned yet again from his earlier stated position that: "I hate capital gains taxes – I just don’t like them. The reason I don’t like them is that, in political terms I don’t think they work," Key said. (Property July 02, 2012) only to, in 2015, decide to impose such a tax.
The Botany Labour Party extends its sympathy to the local MP, Jami-Lee Ross, who has now to swallow and choke on the Labour Party policy so willingly embraced by his “Dear Leader.”
The imposition of a Capital Gains Tax on property purchased for speculative purposes must be very hard for Jami-Lee Ross to stomach, especially as he has been a consistent echo chamber for his Leader in opposing, without evidence, knowledge or justification, the introduction of such a tax.
The Botany Labour Party welcomes the sudden appearance of a glimmer of economic intelligence within the National Party and takes this opportunity to remind the public that it has been the Labour Party, in Government, that has consistently demonstrated greater competency in responsibly managing the country’s economy.
