Chief of Defence Force to Attend Pacific Defence Heads Meeting
The Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant General (LTGEN) Tim Keating, will attend the Pacific Heads of Defence meeting in Hawaii over the next three days.
The Pacific Chiefs of Defence Force Conference (PAC CHODs) runs from 28 to 30 September.
“This is a good opportunity to discuss common security issues with counterparts from Asia-Pacific nations,” says LTGEN Keating. “About 30 countries from the Asia Pacific region have been invited to attend.
“The conference includes symposiums on a variety of topics, including counter-terrorism. I will also take the opportunity to hold bilateral talks with counterparts from 12 countries,” says LTGEN Keating.
The PAC CHODs event is held annually, and every second year it is held in Hawaii.
