New Zealand Green Investment Finance (NZGIF) will be a bridge between investors and the key industries and sectors delivering low emissions projects, says NZGIF Chair Cecilia Tarrant.
Prime Minister Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern and Climate Change Minister Hon James Shaw launched NZGIF in Wellington today.
"I’m honoured to be leading New Zealand Green Investment Finance with its mission to accelerate investment into low emissions projects in New Zealand," says Cecilia Tarrant.
"NZGIF will actively work with the market to create opportunities, structure products and execute transactions to help to drive the evolution of low emissions investment. NZGIF will have the expertise, flexibility and mandate to facilitate private investment in sectors and industries where the greatest impact can be made."
"I look forward to NZGIF financing projects that have a positive impact on the environment and produce good investment returns. It will be a pleasure working with my fellow Board Director David Woods and NZGIF Ambassador Sir Robert Fenwick to make NZGIF a success."
