Wakeman Mayoral Candidate questions why NZ recognises Israel, when Israel does not have defined borders like Palestine. The lack of USA recognition of Palestine in the UN raises the question, do we have international law or the USA deciding who NZ must sanction? Can the US actions overrule New Zealand’s sovereignty? 

New Zealand appears to act like a US puppet when it comes to supposedly NZ having an independent foreign policy. For example: Supporting the USA with respect to supporting Ukraine despite the Ukrainian President admitting he’s lost the war with Russia and Ukraine was only used as a proxy to weaken Russia. 

The Europeans are now paying more for their energy needs from the US maybe around seven times more compared to what they used to pay for Russian energy which is causing serious damage to their economy due to very high energy prices.

New Zealand already has acknowledged it has a gas shortage yet, New Zealand following other countries in sanctioning Russia is against NZ’s economic interest. 
It’s interesting to note the US is still purchasing uranium from Russia. 
New Zealand needs trade with other Countries not War.
