Treasury’s Chief Strategist Struan Little's Speech At ANZ-KangaNews Debt Capital Markets Summit

Treasury’s Chief Strategist Struan Little has this afternoon delivered this speech at the ANZ-KangaNews Debt Capital Markets Summit, " Strengths in uncertain times: a Treasury perspective".

Considerable uncertainty surrounds the Iran conflict and its economic impacts and, in the speech, Struan talks about strengths which will help New Zealand weather this event.

He reinforces the need for future governments to keep the focus on fiscal sustainability by bending the productivity curve up and the debt curve down. He also talks about some of New Zealand Debt Management’s work in managing the increasing quantum of Crown debt.
