(SBU) On May 30 we delivered reftel points to Ministry of
Foreign Affairs DAS for East African Affairs Hans Jacub
Frydenlund. Frydenlund said that Norway would wait and see
what impact the additional U.S. sanctions have on the Darfur
parties. He added that Norway normally favors multi-lateral
actions. Frydenlund also mentioned that his staff was
preparing for Salva Kiir's visit to Oslo May 30 through June
1. Kiir's schedule includes meetings with the PM
Stoltenberg, State Secretary Raymond Johansen, and
Development Minister Eric Solheim. Discussions will center
around the Sudan political situation, Sudan's oil sector, and
peace and reconciliation efforts.
