1. Embassy delivered reftel demarche requesting Bangladesh's
support for the re-election of Felice Gaer to the Committee
on Torture. Demarche points were delivered to the Acting
Director, Americas and Pacific Wing, Ministry of Foreign
Affairs on September 26.

2. The Acting Director informed POLOFF the Ministry will
provide a response once the Foreign Advisor returns from the
UN General Assembly in early October. Post will report any
substantive response septel.
