(SBU) On October 26, POL Chief delivered reftel fact sheet
and non-paper to Ambassador Ellen Nee-Whang, Chief Director
and number three official in Ghana's MFA, and urged the GOG
to consider similar steps. Nee-Whang expressed appreciation
for USG consultations with Ghana on Iran sanctions. She
stressed that Ghana is committed to supporting the existing
UNSC resolutions on Iran, and said the October 25
designations appear consistent with those resolutions. She
stressed that Ghana favors efforts that will encourage
dialogue and a diplomatic solution to these issues.
