(SBU) On October 24, Poloff met with MFA International Organizations
Department Desk Officer Phan Ho The Nam to deliver reftel points on
the candidacy of David Walker to the UN Independent Audit Advisory
Committee (IAAC). Nam advised that, to his knowledge, the GVN has
not yet received any requests to support other candidates for the
WEOG seat on the IAAC. He added that the information about Mr.
Walker's candidacy would receive careful consideration by MFA
leadership in consultation with Vietnam's UN Mission. Nam said the
Embassy will be informed as soon as a decision is made.
