REQUIREMENTS
REF: SECSTATE 119837
1. Emboff demarched Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Director of International Organizations Ruben Vidaurre on
October 11th regarding The SAFE Port Act. Vidaurre
acknowledged the new law and understood that all cargo
leaving foreign ports for the US would need to be scanned for
the presence of nuclear or other radioactive materials. He
was also clear that some exemptions to the July 1, 2012
deadline were available through DHS under certain
circumstances.
2. Post is unaware of any local reactions to the law.
Vidaurre also offered no reaction.
