THE SPECIAL TRIBUNAL FOR LEBANON

(SBU) In response to reftel request that posts, identify
potential candidates to serve as international judges on the
Special Tribunal for Lebanon, post has identified Jawida
Guiga. Guiga is a retired Supreme Court magistrate, and a
former member of the Tunisian constitutional council. Though
retired, she previously shared with Emboff that she is still
consulting for the Ministry of Justice as a national and
international legal expert. Post considers her to be fair
and unbiased with regard to the issue at hand.
