1. On October 22, Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Randall Romo
Oguidan, the Assistant to the Director of the Americas Bureau at the
GOB'S Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Jonas Djebou, the Deputy
Director of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs confirmed to Post that the GOB usually supports the U.S.
regarding human rights related resolutions. He added that the
Ministry is discussing the resolutions with the GOB's permanent
representative to the UN and will soon make a final decision.

2. Post will provide the official Government of Benin response as it
becomes available.
