1. (U) Per reftel, PolOff delivered the demarche on David
Walker's candidacy to Jamshed Khamidov, Deputy Head of the
Department for International Organizations at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan. PolOff handed Khamidov a printed
copy of Walker's biographic information, and Khamidov indicated
that he would forward our request. Khamidov later contacted
PolOff and requested that we send a diplomatic note. Embassy
Dushanbe duly sent the diplomatic note.

2. (U) Khamidov has given no indication as to whether Tajikistan
will support the candidacy.
