THE USE OF RAPE AS AN INSTRUMENT OF STATE POLICY"

(U) On October 3, Poloffs delivered reftel demarche and
provided a copy of the draft resolution to Jose Roberto Mejia
Trabanino, MFA Coordinator of Global Issues. Mejia said that
El Salvador had supported such resolutions in the past and
that he saw no objection to supporting the resolution. He
said that he would forward a copy of the draft resolution to
the Salvadoran delegation at the United Nations. He promised
that a formal response would be forthcoming. Post will
forward the response when received.
