1. The Sixth Committee adopted without a vote the draft
resolutions requesting observer status in the General
Assembly for the organizations listed in para 2 on October
23, 2007 (refA). Per refB, USUN joined consensus in support
of these organizations. Information on the organizations and
the text of the relevant draft resolutions are contained in
the UN documents referenced below.

2. The Sixth Committee adopted the following observer status
request draft resolutions:

--Item 158: The Regional Centre on Small Arms and Light
Weapons in the Great Lakes Region, the Horn of Africa and
Bordering States (Background A/62/141, Draft Resolution
A/C.6/62/L.2/Rev.1);

--Item 159: The Italian-Latin American Institute (Background
A/62/143, Draft Resolution A/C.6/62/L.5);

--Item 160: The Energy Charter Conference (Background
A/62/191, Draft Resolution A/C.6/62/L.3/Corr.1);

--Item 162: The Eurasian Development Bank (Background
A/62/194, Draft Resolution A/C.6/62/L.4).
