Darius Staniulis, head of the MFA's Human Rights and NGOs
Division, on October 1, and Egidijus Navikas, Head of the
MFA's Common Foreign and Security Policy Division, on October
11, both told us that the GOL is very supportive of sanctions
against Burma. They confirmed, however, that the GOL
provides no direct aid to Burma, has no plans to provide aid,
and has no presence in the area.
