Russian President Vladimir Putin Speaks to US President George W. Bush by Telephone
Today, on the American side's initiative,
Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone
conversation with US President George W. Bush.
During the talk, the Heads of State, in continuation of regular consultations on the Iraq problem, exchanged their appraisals of the current developments in the situation, noting with satisfaction that, while retaining the well-known approaches of Russia and the US to ways of settlement around Iraq, a constant political dialogue is being maintained between the sides.
Putin and Bush underscored the fundamental importance of maintaining and developing the positive strategic perspective in Russian-American relations.
