Military Parade and Mammoth Demonstration Held in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- A military parade and a mammoth demonstration took place at Kim Il Sung Square this morning on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, mounted the tribune of honor. Chief of the General Staff of the KPA Kim Yong Chun made a speech to be followed by a military parade.
Columns of the military parade marching past in fine array were filled with the stamina to mercilessly wipe out any aggressors attempting to encroach upon the sovereignty of the country and the nation and reliably defend the socialist cause of Juche.
The military parade was followed by a mammoth demonstration.
The demonstrators marched
past the tribune of honor presenting graceful rhythmic
movements and wavering bouquets while their huge floats,
picture-boards and slogans caught spectators' eyes.
