Mass demonstration against the Wall in Azzawiya tomorrow [Azzawiya, Salfit] This Friday,in Azzawiya village, Salfit District, there will be a mass demonstration against the Wall at 12:30 pm after the noon prayers.
Meeting place is in front of the large mosque. At least a thousand people are expected to take part in a march.
The demonstration is supported by many Israeli organisations such as Taayush, Anarchists against the Wall, and international activists from Denmark, England, France, South Africa, America, Canada Azzawiya has already lost a lot of land to settlements, a military training base, and settler highway no. 5.
It faces army and settler violence and now if the wall is built, it will be in an enclave along with Deir Ballut and Rafat, cut off from the rest of the West Bank. The three villages will lose most of their remaining land to the wall if it is built.
This means that residents will then have to apply to Israel for the privilege of living in their own homes, and will still be at the mercy of the army to be able to go anywhere. Where this has already happened, the military orders decreeing the need for permits exempt Israeli citizens and internationals of Jewish descent from these requirements, which is blatant discrimination.
