Freedom March Converges On Ramallah And Final Push To
Jerusalem
On August 18 and 19 the Freedom March will travel from Beitunia, through Ramallah, Qalandia, Al-Ram and then will attempt to culminate in Jerusalem.
Wednesday, August 18, the Freedom March leaves Beitunia in the morning and will march to Ramallah where they will visit with the prisoners' solidarity tent to show their support for the political prisoners at approximately 11:00am. The prisoners are on hunger strike as of Sunday August 15 to demand basic rights and an end to abuse in the prisons.
Wednesday morning a delegation of The Freedom March will visit President Arafat in Ramallah. They will share the stories they have heard from the communities about the hardship resulting from the Wall and the impact on the lives of Palestinians throughout the West Bank.
At approximately 1:00pm the Freedom March will join
the demonstration in support of political prisoners on
hunger strike. The March will then continue on to Qalandia
Checkpoint where at 4:00pm Israeli peace activists will be
joining from the other side to march together to Al-Ram.
From there they will attempt to reach Jerusalem.
