Settlers attack international monitors - At-Tuwani
Settlers attack and badly injure international monitors in At-Tuwani
Two members of an Italian-based peace group were beaten by settlers near the Havat Maon Settler outpost, south of Hebron today.
One of them has been admitted to hospital with an injury from a blow to the head. He is suffering from short term memory loss and blurred vision.
Three internationals from the Christian Peace Maker Teams and Operation Dove were accompanying shepherds on their own land above At-Tuwani, when two settlers accosted them.
American Dianna Zimmerman who was held at gunpoint by a settler said they were mostly interested in the Palestinian farmers.
"I thought that if I engaged in conversation with one of them it would be more difficult for the other to shoot me for fear he would hurt his friend," she said.
This is the second time Diana has been attacked near Havat Maon. In October a masked settler attacked her group and ruptured the kidney of one of her colleagues.
This event happened ten days after Christian Peacemakers Kim Lamberty and Kim Brown where seriously wounded in a similar attack.
